J'onn J'onzz lived a happy life on Mars until his people were attacked by the Pale Martian race. In the devastation J'onn's wife and children were killed. J'onn first came to Earth when a scientist accidentally transported him here while simply trying to communicate with Mars. J'onn stayed, adopting this new world as his own and using his natural shapeshifting ability to create numerous Earth identities. Besides Aquaman, he is the only current member who was also a founder of the original Justice League. However, unlike anyone else, J'onn has been a part of nearly every incarnation the League has seen. He is often quiet and emotionless, but powerful and respected by his colleagues.

Has the natural ability to shapeshift and turn invisible.	Able to shoot tightly focused beams of energy from his eyes.	Like all Martians, has weakness to fire.
Strong telepath, allowing himself and other Leaguers to communicate with minds; also can read minds.	Possesses incredible strength, intellect, speed, and ability to fly.	Possibly the most powerful member of the JLA, it is believed he possesses powers not yet known of.
